We have tried this in our classroom and found that it was helpful for a handful of students, but not everyone. I think some students felt embarrassed by “needing” the corner. I’m guessing that I could have utilized that for a teachable moment in the class about different people needing different coping strategies. If anyone has had great success with a Calming Corner, we love to hear more about it!
